An intimate conversation with ANANE

On one of the first brisk fall nights of the season, we ventured over to CIELO Club in NYC. We were overjoyed to be invited by one of our favorite house music artist, Anané.
As we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the Cielo door staff. Upon entering we ran into many friends of ours from Tommy Boy Records, and it just set the tone for that night that we were going to have a great time.
After watching the insanely talented dancers tearing up the floor, which looked like they defied gravity, we were treated to a special performance by ANANE.
Dressed in a little black dress and lace gloves the songstress immediately commanded the room. The crowd was enslaved by the percussion beats, bass, and flawless vocals that flowed out of Anane. It was a great experience to see her live.
We were floored by her performance, and the crowd showed her love right back. Promptly after she stepped off stage, we whisked her away to a little quiet spot to Cielo outdoor patio for an intimate interview. Hope you fall in love with her as we did.

ANANE Rising Star

If you not familiar with the name, you’ve definitely busted some moves to her songs.
The beautiful Capo Verde native, that would make Coco Chanel proud with her amazing style , had been singing her way into everyone’s hearts.
Heating up dance floors around the world with her Soulful island infused tracks since she stepped on the scene. Anane has her plateful from being a full time mother, wife to music legend Louie Vega, and soothing the souls of dance goers everywhere.
She has become the “Queen of Soulful House Music”. Her voice is a producers dream. There’s no studio tricks with her, she‘s the real deal. Which is very rare these days to find an artist that can perform on stage as in the studio.
We caught Anane’ at a performance at Cielo NYC, where the crowd was floored by the incomparable talent she possesses. We want to tell you more about this amazing artist Metrovelvet has feel in love with, but We don’t want to give to much away.
We sat down with Anane’ for an interview, which we’ll be bringing to you shortly. You don’t want to miss this, especially with live concert footage. Anane Selections will be out in April 2008 on Tommy Boy, but you can get many of her songs that are out on Vega Records.
